Best Time to Visit Amarkantak
The ideal time to visit Amarkantak is between October and March. During these months, the weather is pleasant and perfect for sightseeing and exploring nature comfortably. Monsoon (July to September) also offers beautiful landscapes with lush greenery and flowing waterfalls, attractive for nature lovers.

The nearest railway station is Pendra Road, about 35 km away, well-connected to major cities.

Places to Visit
Places to Visit in Amarkantak
Narmada Udgam Kund This is the exact place where the Narmada River starts. It is a sacred spot and has a kund (water tank) built by the Kalachuri kings. Pilgrims collect the first drops of the river here for rituals.
Ancient Kalachuri Temples
These stone temples were built in the 11th century by Kalachuri ruler Karnadeva. You’ll see well-carved pillars and sculptures. The temples are protected by the Archaeological Survey of India.
Jwaleshwar Mahadev Temple
This is the spot where the Narmada River turns west. The temple has a naturally formed Shiva Lingam and is surrounded by a forest.
Kapil Dhara Waterfall
This waterfall is around 100 feet high. It is the first big fall of the Narmada River. It is named after Kapil Muni, who meditated nearby.
Dudh Dhara Waterfall
Located just after Kapil Dhara, this fall has a milky white water flow. The route is through a small forest trail. It is peaceful and less crowded.
Sonemuda (Origin of Sone River)
This is the starting point of the Sone River. From here, you get a clear valley view and can see the river flowing down through the hills.
Mai Ki Bagiya
This is a small forest area filled with fruit trees and flowers. Locals believe Maa Narmada used to play here. The place has small temples and shaded walking paths.
Sarvodaya Jain Temple
This temple is under construction. The main idol is made of eight metals (Ashtadhatu). The construction does not use cement or iron.
Kabir Chabutra
This is a small raised platform where the poet-saint Kabir is believed to have meditated. The place has writings of his dohas and is visited by his followers.
Trimukhi Temple
This temple has a three-faced idol. It was built during the Kalachuri period. It is less known but has a calm environment.

Dear Akshayji..... it was my and my wife's first experience to travel within India in an organized tour by a travel agent. We are really fortunate to avail your services as the tour was meticulously planned and executed. We were well received at our first destination by your representative Hemant and brought to our first destination Khajuraho. We had visit to this ancient sculpures next day. The guide was knowledgible and gave use detailed information. And this sequence followed to other destinations: Banghavgad, Amarkantak, Kanha and Jabalpur. At all destinations we were provided with comfortable hotel stay. The BF, lunch and dinners were chummy and after your 10 days hospitlity we have to have extra workouts to shed few kilos we gained. During jungle safari we were also fortunate to see three tigers in sanctuaries. From Khajuraho we reached Amarkantak in time to have Narmada arati. Ma blessed us. In Jabalpur we had one night stay in Vrudavan Gopala resort adjoing which Ma Narmada changes its avatar into a water fall. It was very amazing sight to see water gushing through marble stone vally and we did enjoy it. It was worth visiting there. To be precise 'it was an iceing on the cake'. We do appreciate your presence during visit to Lord Shiva statue. You kindness to provide us special lunch on last day and even see us off at Jabalpur station was worth noting. Overall we had a very pleasant trip and certainly we would prefer to use your services for future trips. In addition, I will stronly recommend others to use your services especially when they are travelling in MP. The accommodation is pretty good, the journey is comfortable and we did not face any difficulties throughout the tour.
